We’re on the hunt for volunteers to join us at British Heart Foundation this September and help us create memories participants will never forget.
The AJ Bell Great North Run is the world’s biggest and best half marathon.
Starting in Newcastle and finishing at South Shields, we’re hoping to have over 1,000 runners taking part and raising funds for the BHF.
We have two roles available on race day: one at our cheer point on route and one at our post-race reception located near the finish line.
Cheer points
You’ll be located at our fun-filled cheer point on the route, next to one of our BHF cheer buses!
We need your support to cheer on our runners and to show how much we appreciate their efforts and to motivate them to the finish line.
You can get the best views of the run from our cheerbus.
Post-race reception
Or you can join us in our post-race marquee at the end of the run and congratulate the runners on their achievement and serve them some well-deserved refreshments.
As part of our volunteer team, you’ll be at the very heart of our runner’s event day experience.
Here you’ll get to enjoy one of the biggest events in the country, while helping to motivate and create an unforgettable atmosphere for our BHF participants.
Groups and Families are more than welcome to join us at our cheer points. Children must be accompanied by a responsible adult who has registered to volunteer with us at the event.
