British Heart Foundation (BHF) is the biggest funder of non-commercial research into heart and circulatory diseases carried out in the UK, with £437m of BHF-funded research underway. We raise money to fund this vital research through fundraising and our commercial operations including BHF Retail, the largest charity retail business in the UK.
Responsibilities
- Provide guidance, support and challenge on the strategy, performance and management of the Retail Division.
- Share expert insight on the wider retail environment, consumer market trends, operational best practice, and any other areas relevant to BHF’s store and online retail operations and performance.
Qualifications
- Extensive senior retail experience across a range of disciplines.
- Strong commitment to BHF’s mission and values, and an understanding of the opportunities and challenges faced by the charity retail sector.
Appointment details: two exceptional individuals to join the Retail Committee. Members are appointed for an initial three-year term, renewable with the expectation that members serve a maximum of two terms.
The committee currently meets on a quarterly basis at our London offices (either virtually or in person) with meetings generally lasting 3-4 hours, typically including one all-day field trip per annum.
