Sales Assistant at British Heart Foundation store in St Ives Cornwall, part‑time 13 hours per week. The role is fast‑paced, trade 7 days a week, and requires flexibility to work weekends and bank holidays on a rota basis, including Sunday plus one other day per week.

Responsibilities

  • Engage with customers, providing exceptional service and promoting the charity’s mission.
  • Organise and merchandise donated stock creatively to maximise sales potential.
  • Collaborate with the E‑Commerce team to maximise online sales.
  • Act as a Keyholder—manage the store when no manager is on duty, maintaining a great customer experience.
  • Work on the till and sort donations, physically demanding tasks including moving a high volume of donation bags.

Qualifications

  • Previous retail experience is not essential; passion, energy and an ability to deliver excellent customer service are required.
  • Confident in a team environment; comfortable guiding volunteers on the shop floor.
  • Able to work well under pressure and on own initiative in a dynamic, fast‑paced environment.
  • Attention to detail and a positive, creative, customer‑service focused attitude, with a passion for sustainability.
  • Comfortable with technology—use of till, PC, smartphone and e‑mail.
  • Minimum age 18+ years.
