This is a home-based contract with travel to London offices and other BHF sites as required. The role is part-time, 28 hours per week, with working days Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday and Friday from 9am to 5pm.

About the role

We have an exciting opportunity for a Cardiac Nurse to join our dynamic Support team who assist patients living with heart and circulatory diseases, their families and the general public. As one of our Cardiac Nurses you’ll contribute to delivering a world-class helpline service by providing high-quality information and support on heart and circulatory diseases and their risk factors.

You’ll help, both over the telephone and in writing, heart patients and their families each day, whether dealing with those living with a heart or circulatory condition or helping to prevent them in the first place. Utilizing your knowledge and experience, you’ll provide support to hundreds of heart patients.

Working arrangements

This is a part-time position, working 28 hours per week, on Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday and Friday. Swapping shifts with a colleague occasionally is possible. Working hours are 9am – 5pm.

This is a home-based contract. There will be a requirement to travel to our London offices to attend meetings and workshops, as well as other BHF sites, when required.

About you

You’ll have a professional and confident telephone manner, able to explain cardiac information in a clear and simple way, showing empathy and compassion as required. You’ll also have excellent written communication skills and will be able to respond to customers through emails and letters as well as BHF\’s online community.

An NMC Registered Nurse, you’ll ideally have specialist study in cardiac nursing at level 6. You’ll also have in-depth knowledge of a wide range of cardiovascular conditions, their treatment and risk factors, and of lifestyle issues relating to coronary heart disease.
