Saint-Gobain Interior Solutions (SGIS) are looking for a Quality and Process Control Manager for our British Gypsum manufacturing site in Barrow on Trent, to ensure that our manufacturing processes and products meet industry standards, customer requirements and regulatory requirements. This role plays a key part in our quest to achieve our silver World Class Manufacturing (WCM) accreditation, by driving continuous improvement, reducing defects, and fostering a culture of quality excellence within our organisation.
You will be an inspirational leader, as you’ll be part of the Senior Leadership on site - you’ll take ownership of the Quality and Process control function and develop your team and our site to be the best they can be. This is a full-time site-based role, working Monday-Friday days (however there may be times you’d need to work outside of these hours depending on business needs). We can be flexible on start and finish times providing core working hours are covered. In return for your experience and passion, we’re paying a generous salary plus pension, bonus and lots of other benefits too including healthcare options.
What we’re looking for:
- Qualified to Degree Level or equivalent in a Scientific or Technical Discipline or have demonstrable professional experience in a similar role
- A background in Continuous Improvement/Lean/Sigma/Problem Solving, Root Cause Analysis (RCA)
- Quality and Process management in a manufacturing environment (incl. Failure Modes & Effects Analysis & Control Plan)
- Demonstrable leadership skills, both from a SLT and team management perspective
- Working knowledge and understanding of the regulations, quality standards applicable to product plus the requirements of ISO9001:2015 and Factory Process Control.
- Change Management, interpreting manufacturing feasibility and associated risk to compliance, product parameters, and processes
- Project management experience
- World Class Manufacturing (WCM) Instructor / Quality & Process Control Pillar Leader would be desirable
- Experience in auditing for ISO9001, Internal Auditor and External Audit Management
- Six Sigma Greenbelt Qualification or equivalent
What will you be doing?
- You will be responsible, first and foremost for the health and safety of staff members
- You’ll hold a key role within the site SLT, and work collaboratively with other leaders to deliver results through developing and leading people by demonstrating appropriate levels of challenge, support, and feedback
- Responsible for developing, implementing and maintaining quality management systems to ensure that manufacturing processes and products meet industry standards
- You’ll be playing a key part in driving continuous improvement, reducing defects, and fostering a culture of quality excellence in the organisation
- Lead the development of the WCM Pillar and manage projects and budgets
- Manage the Laboratory and site wide Control Plans to meet ISO 9001, BBA, FPC and WCM Q&PC pillar requirements
- Create a culture that supports continual development of credible experts by identifying and developing talent within the quality team to ensure delivery of sustained results
