Job Description
Are you ready to wear multiple hats and make a big impact? We're on the lookout for a proactive and hands-on Systems and Improvement Manager to join our team at British Gypsum in Robertsbridge
This is a key role covering several critical areas – safety, environment, digital transformation, and business systems – so no two days will be the same.
What You’ll Be Doing:
- Lead Safety Culture: Be the site’s safety champion – drive our zero-harm mindset, oversee safety reporting, and keep our systems and metrics current.
- Environmental Support: Work closely with the Environment Agency, manage site permits, ensure legal compliance, and investigate any breaches with corrective action planning.
- Integrated Management Systems (IMS): Own and maintain our IMS. Prepare for and host external audits (BSI), ensuring systems and documentation are always audit-ready.
- Drive Digital Transformation: Play a key role in our Digital 4.0 roadmap – helping digitise our management systems and bring smarter solutions to how we work.
- Support Sustainability Goals: Help us lead in sustainability by identifying and managing our plant’s environmental impacts.
What We’re Looking For:
- Experience in a manufacturing environment
- Comfortable working with BSI standards, audits, and compliance systems
- Solid knowledge of health & safety reporting – NEBOSH qualification preferred
- A confident communicator, comfortable liaising across teams and with external regulators
- Passionate about systems, continuous improvement, and digital innovation
