We're currently recruiting for an Electrical Engineering Apprentice to join our manufacturing site in Robertsbridge. This is an exciting opportunity for someone with a passion for engineering to begin their career within the electrical craft trade. You'll get hands-on experience, learn from skilled engineers, and gain industry-recognised qualifications - all while being part of a business that leads the way in innovative and sustainable construction.
About the Apprenticeship:
This apprenticeship combines on-the-job learning at our Robertsbridge site with one day per week (term time only) off-site learning at Hastings College. You'll be supported every step of the way as you develop technical skills, gain practical knowledge, and complete your formal apprenticeship training.
What You'll Be Doing:
- Supporting safe and sustainable engineering practices through EHS tools (SUSA, SHREQ)
- Learning how to maintain and repair electrical, hydraulic and pneumatic systems
- Assisting with root cause analysis, preventative maintenance, and reliability improvements
- Supporting plant trials and continuous improvement activities
- Attending off-the-job training and completing all learning and assessment outcomes to a high standard
- Logging work and updates on our computerised maintenance systems
What We're Looking For:
We're looking for a motivated, hands-on individual who's eager to develop their career in engineering. You'll need to:
- Be a strong communicator and effective team player
- Be organised, proactive and able to manage multiple priorities
- Be comfortable working safely and to high standards in a manufacturing environment
- Show confidence in learning, problem-solving and contributing new ideas
Qualifications:
Minimum: 5 GCSEs grade C/4 or above, including English, Maths, Science (or another technical subject) and IT
Preferred: 3 GCSEs above grade B and/or a qualification in engineering
No prior experience is required - just the right attitude, curiosity, and willingness to learn.
