Role Details

Location: South and South-West (plus Jersey, Guernsey and Isle of Wight) – Permanent; London and South-East (plus Gibraltar) – Temporary for a minimum of 9 months.

Leave: 31 days annual leave plus Bank Holidays and Company days, 2 wellbeing days a year, and weekly exercise and wellbeing hours.

This is a regionally based role working from home with regular travel across the assigned region and national travel as required.

Responsibilities

• Provide individual coach support through observation, reflection, feedback and development planning in both community and pathway environments.
• Build trusted relationships with coaches, clubs and key stakeholders to understand local needs and identify development opportunities.
• Facilitate learning communities, workshops and coach development activities that encourage collaboration, shared learning and problem solving.
• Deliver coach education courses and support the effective delivery of learning and development programmes across the region.
• Work with colleagues across Learning and Development, Performance Pathways, Community and Safe Sport functions to embed learning into practice.
• Gather and analyse insight from coaches and clubs to inform future products, services and support interventions.
• Support the quality assurance, development and ongoing engagement of tutors, assessors and other learning delivery personnel.
• Promote a positive coaching culture by recognising, celebrating and sharing effective coaching practice across the gymnastics community.
• Contribute to projects, initiatives and programmes that develop coaching standards, coach licensing and workforce development.
• Champion inclusive practice, safeguarding, wellbeing and British Gymnastics values in all aspects of your work.

Qualifications & Experience

• A minimum Level 2 Gymnastics Coaching Qualification (or equivalent coaching experience) and a strong understanding of effective coaching practice and coach development principles.
• Experience of coaching and/or supporting the development of coaches within a sporting environment.
• The ability to build credible and trusted relationships with coaches, clubs, volunteers and stakeholders.
• Experience of facilitating learning, mentoring, workshops, communities of practice or other development activities.
• Excellent communication, listening and influencing skills, with the ability to adapt your approach to different audiences.
• The ability to observe practice, provide constructive feedback and support reflective learning.
• Experience of using insight, feedback or data to identify needs and inform development opportunities.
• Strong organisational skills, with the ability to manage a varied workload and work independently across a regional area.
• A commitment to inclusive practice, safeguarding, wellbeing and creating positive experiences for all participants.
• Confidence working collaboratively with colleagues and partners to achieve shared objectives.
• A full UK driving licence and willingness to travel regularly throughout the assigned region, with occasional national travel as required.
• An Enhanced DBS with barred list will be required for the post.
