Location: This role will be dual based, with the expectation to regularly work at our head offices at Lilleshall National Sports Centre, nr Newport, Shropshire

Contract type: Permanent (Full time)

39 days annual leave (including Bank Holiday and Company days) + 2 wellbeing days a year + weekly exercise and wellbeing hours

The Opportunity: We are looking for an organised and proactive Events Support Officer to join our team. The purpose of this role is to provide comprehensive support to Event Managers, ensuring all delegated duties are completed accurately and on time to deliver high-profile national and major events. This is an exciting opportunity for someone who thrives in a collaborative environment and enjoys contributing to exceptional experiences.

Main responsibilities:

  • Support Event Managers in planning and delivering national and major events to a high standard.
  • Coordinate recruitment and deployment of officials and volunteers for events.
  • Manage event logistics including venue bookings, accommodation, catering and equipment.
  • Lead accreditation processes and coordinate VIP invitations, programmes and visitor packs.
  • Liaise with Marketing and Procurement teams on event marketing, publications and merchandise.
  • Assist with operational plans, ticketing processes and on-site event delivery, including set-up and breakdown.
  • Provide administrative support such as budget monitoring, processing expenses and maintaining accurate records.
  • Organise meetings, prepare agendas and ensure timely communication with stakeholders.
  • Support volunteer coordination and ensure effective communication before and during events.
  • Contribute to post-event reviews and continuous improvement of processes.

About you: We’re looking for someone who can demonstrate:

  • Strong organisational skills and attention to detail.
  • Excellent communication and relationship-building skills across diverse stakeholders.
  • Flexibility, initiative and problem-solving skills under pressure.
  • Experience in event planning, budgeting and administration.
  • Proficiency in IT systems and confidence in managing financial processes (desirable).

  • Willingness to travel and work occasional weekends or evenings to support events.
  • Understanding of health, safety and welfare considerations in event delivery (or willingness to learn).
