Travelling Head Person/Groom position based in Berkshire. 6 days per week. Full time. Sector: Racing (Flat). Salary: Competitive. Pets allowed. Accommodation available.
Roles and responsibilities include:
- Travelling horses to the races and sales
- Competent and confident saddling horses and overseeing all aspects of their care at the racecourse
- Full liaison with owners at the races in the absence of the trainer
- Liaising with the trainer remotely if not in attendance at the races
- Opportunities to travel abroad with overseas runners
- Assisting in the organisation and maintenance of the racing tack room (colours, tack, staff, clothing, etc.)
- Maintenance of horseboxes
- Cleaning after racing and reporting any faults to the office
- Riding out and general yard duties when not racing
Requirements:
- Applicants must be over 25 years old
- Have a full, clean driving license
- Be confident driving a two horse (3.5T) horsebox
- Applicants should be experienced and confident in travelling horses, well organised and able to work as part of a team
