What we are:

Professional, Calm & Welfare‑Focused Yard – we are opening a new livery yard with the long‑term aim of housing 15 stabled liveries (5 & 7 day) and a small herd of full grass liveries. We value excellent horsemanship, welfare and a relaxed, supportive atmosphere – both for the horses and the people.

The Role:

This role is ideal for someone with strong experience in the equestrian world who is now looking for a quieter, less pressured and more welfare‑focused position. You will primarily be working as Head Groom, focused on the horses and their day‑to‑day care. The Yard & Estate Manager will handle wider estate management, client communication and stock ordering.

Typical Duties:

  • Usual daily horse care and routines – mucking out (all horses on Aubiose bedding), turning out, grooming, feeding, sweeping etc.
  • Spotting and communicating behavioural or health changes
  • Helping maintain tidy, organised stables
  • Supporting co‑workers respectfully and professionally

Who We Are Looking For:

  • Self‑motivated with a keen eye for detail and tidiness
  • Empathetic and calm around horses
  • Previous experience as head groom on a yard of 10+ horses
  • Efficient but never rushed – horse welfare always comes first
  • Able to guide less experienced team members

Pay & Benefits:

To start, while part‑time and while the yard fills: £15 per hour (PAYE). Once the yard reaches capacity and the role becomes full‑time: £28,000 – £30,000 per year (PAYE) depending on experience and responsibility.

Secure PAYE contract with holiday pay, sick pay, NI & tax handled by us. Standard full‑time hours (once the yard is full): 7.5 hrs days – morning shift 07:00‑11:30 & afternoon shift 14:00‑17:00. Two full days off per week. Flexible daily schedule, as long as routines and horse care are maintained. Own horse welcome – must be happy in small herd turn‑out.
