About Your Role
Your mission is to help us mend it. Smart meters are the in-house technology that unlocks a greener future by sending real-time data that shows customers how much energy they use and where they can save. As an apprentice, you’ll learn to install and repair smart meters and help customers get the most from them. At our award-winning academies, you’ll gain the skills and qualifications to become a top-tier Smart Metering Engineer, under the guidance of experienced engineers, visiting homes in your area.
Skills you need to succeed:
- 4 GCSEs, ideally including Maths & English, at grade C/4 or above or a recognised equivalent
- A CV that demonstrates a genuine passion for learning a trade, mechanical or technical aptitude, and excellent customer service
- A full UK driving licence with no more than 6 points
- Availability to attend training at one of our four UK academies, with accommodation and travel provided if needed
What’s in it for you
- Starting salary of £16,053 rising to £19,493 at week 28, £22,932 (typically) at week 35, £25,485 at week 52, and £32,861 (typically) at week 60 of your apprenticeship
- After completing the full programme, typical aftercare salary of around £38,589 with bonus and add-ons
- London Weighting Allowance ranging from £4,160 to £6,240 depending on location
- An expensed electric van for work use, including an EV charge point and charge card
