Relationship Account Manager – British Gas New Business (Net Zero) Midlands / M1 Corridor | Field-based with home working. Applicants must be comfortable with regular travel. Candidates should live within the Midlands/M1 corridor due to business requirements.

What You’ll Do
- Winning and growing business: Identify, nurture, and convert new opportunities while developing strong account plans for existing clients.
- Supporting customers on their Net Zero journey: Act as a subject matter expert, advising clients on the best solutions and helping them access funding opportunities.
- Building a strong sales pipeline: Manage opportunities using Salesforce, ensuring deals progress through the sales plan smoothly.
- Using market insight: Understand competitor propositions, customer needs, and industry trends to shape winning strategies.
- Collaborating with internal teams: Work closely with commercial, bid, marketing, operational and grid services/DSR teams to position our propositions and deliver excellent customer outcomes.
- Championing the British Gas Zero brand: Represent us at events, contribute to marketing initiatives, and support the growth of our renewables capability.
What You’ll Bring
- Strong Business Development experience and the ability to build and manage key client relationships.
- Commercial awareness across energy products and services, with knowledge of Solar, Battery Storage, Hive products and Air Source Heat Pumps.
- Experience managing third-party relationships and navigating complex sales cycles.
- Excellent communication, presentation, and negotiation skills—comfortable engaging with senior stakeholders internally and externally.
- Understanding of pricing, margin management, sales processes, industry obligations, and go-to-market models.
- Ability to collaborate across multiple teams, influence stakeholders, and represent British Gas across the wider Centrica group.
- A customer-centric mindset with a strong ability to understand commercial value and customer needs.
- Willingness to travel for customer meetings (Midlands / M1 Corridor).
