Role Overview: This second‐line actuarial role covers risk, technical provisions, underwriting oversight, and regulatory activity. Your work will influence risk management, regulatory compliance, and business decisions.

Location: Hybrid – blend of home and office. Team time is required at the Windsor site when needed.

Responsibilities:

  • Support Home Care insurance products (boiler and central heating cover) and manage risk in line with regulatory requirements.
  • Technical provisions & actuarial insight: Support the quarterly review of technical provisions. Assess assumptions and ensure robust actuarial outputs.
  • Underwriting & reinsurance oversight: Assist in overseeing underwriting activities. Support the Chief Actuary in forming opinions on underwriting and reinsurance strategies.
  • Risk management & ORSA: Contribute to broader risk management activities, including the ORSA process. Support stress testing and scenario analysis.
  • Regulatory & PRA activity: Support PRA compliance, including horizon scanning and regulatory monitoring. Maintain a strong governance and risk framework.

Qualifications:

  • Part‐qualified actuary progressing through IFoA exams.
  • Experience within insurance (ideally GI), consultancy, or actuarial risk.
  • Good understanding of Solvency II / Solvency UK.
  • Curiosity and desire to develop across multiple actuarial disciplines.
  • Strong communication skills, able to engage and influence senior stakeholders.
  • Proactive mindset and confidence to operate in a second‐line oversight role.
