British Garden Centres, a family‑run group with over 78 centres nationwide, is looking for an experienced Restaurant Team Leader to join our vibrant and growing team. Our restaurants welcome millions of guests each year, offering everything from hearty carveries to indulgent afternoon teas. As a Restaurant Team Leader, you will play a key role in delivering an exceptional dining experience. You’ll motivate and support the team, lead by example, and ensure our high standards of customer service are consistently met. You will also take responsibility for maintaining food quality, safety, and hygiene standards across the restaurant. This role includes a range of supervisory duties, such as supporting recruitment, training new team members, and creating staff rotas that meet the needs of a busy, fast‑paced environment. A minimum of 2 years’ experience in a similar role is essential.

Skills Required:
- Excellent customer service and communication skills.
- Front‑of‑house and back‑of‑house experience.
- Computer literacy, including Word and Excel.
- Barista experience.
- Strong problem‑solving abilities.
- Knowledge of stock control and stock taking.
- Ability to drive sales and manage labour costs.
- Experience in food preparation and understanding of food safety standards.
- Confidence in handling customer queries and complaints.
- Proven leadership experience in a fast‑paced food environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver outstanding guest service and maintain high standards at all times.
- Manage and motivate a small team.
- Assist with stock taking and stock management.
- Plan and organise staff rotas.
- Deputise for the Restaurant Manager when required.
- Ensure company policies are followed and communicated clearly to the team.
- Maintain excellent hygiene and safety standards in line with Health & Safety regulations.
