Regional Manager (Restaurants)
Location: Northwest Area – Ambleside, Bolton, Bold Heath, Birchencliffe, Lytham St Annes, Mirfield, Leyland, Towneley, Tarporley.
Contract: Permanent. Hours: Full Time. 45 hours per week, including weekends.
British Garden Centres, a family group of over 75 garden centres, is looking for a Regional Restaurant Manager to lead an area within our many restaurants.
Responsibilities:
Oversee multiple locations within a designated area.
Focus on strategic growth and financial performance (budgets, labour, sales).
Ensure brand and operational consistency across sites.
Develop and support on‑site managers.
Handle high‑level problem‑solving, policy implementation, staff training, and regional marketing initiatives.
Supervise implementation of best practices and provide training to employees at all locations.
Meet customers to learn about guest experiences, analyse trends and drive overall success.
Qualifications:
Proven experience as a Hospitality Area Manager.
Track record of region‑wide sales growth.
Strong knowledge of food hygiene, health and safety, and auditing.
Ability to lead a team, recruit and induct new starters in a fast‑paced environment.
Passion for food and strong attention to detail.
IT literate and able to comply with systems and processes.
Valid driving license and own car.
Ability to travel frequently between sites.
Key Responsibilities and Duties
Operational Excellence: Monitor and improve the daily performance of multiple restaurants to meet brand standards.
Financial Performance: Set and review budgets, analyse sales data, and implement strategies to increase profitability.
Team Leadership & Development: Recruit, train, mentor and evaluate Restaurant General Managers, addressing skill gaps.
Compliance & Safety: Ensure all locations adhere to company policies, legal regulations and health and safety requirements.
Customer Experience: Drive high standards of service and address high‑level guest feedback or complaints.
Marketing and Strategy: Implement regional marketing campaigns and develop commercial partnerships.
