Full Time – 35 Hours Per Week – Including Weekends

At British Garden Centres, we aim to deliver a great experience in our Centres and create an exceptional customer service experience. We are looking for a Team Leader for Plants to work in this fast-paced and very customer-focused Centre. The successful candidate will be highly motivated, approachable, and have excellent people skills with a positive “can do” attitude plus a keen eye for detail. The successful candidate should be physically fit as this is a very hands-on role and some heavy lifting will be involved. A forklift truck license would be an advantage although not essential as training will be given. Experience in building or similar retail experience is preferred. Two years of plant knowledge is a must, and previous work within horticulture is required.

Duties will include:

  • Maintain plant area.
  • Supervising duties including key holder opening and closing store as required.
  • Excellent customer service.
  • Organising team schedules and any staff issues.
  • Evaluating employee performance and providing training and guidance as needed.
  • Filling in for absent employees and assisting teams as needed to successfully complete projects.
  • Ensuring that employees follow company policies as well as health and safety regulations.
  • Ensuring a high and consistent standard of customer service.
  • Business compliance in accordance with Health and Safety and food safety laws and regulations.
