Full Time – 42.5 Hours Per Week – Including Weekends

We are looking for a Garden Centre Plant Manager. The ideal candidate must have a proven track record of leading a successful multi-million-pound plant department, as well as experience of running the wider garden centre to support the GCM and AGCM. The candidate will be responsible for all KPI measures, including sales growth, waste, and stock loss, as well as all maintenance, business building/planning and health and safety compliance. They must have a passion for developing and coaching to ensure the future success of the department, through highly motivated, knowledgeable colleagues. The candidate must have experience in managing large teams and will be accountable for colleagues within the plant team.

Expectation is to work any 5 days in 7, (including weekends) depending on the needs of the business, which may change weekly, over a 42.5 hour per week contract. The successful candidate will also be one of the centre's designated key holders and will at times be responsible for opening and closing the centre. Must have at least 2 years plant area management experience, demonstrable in a large volume environment. Must have at least 5 years management experience.

Duties include:

  • Development of the overall plant business, through strategic planning and regular review.
  • Accountability of the wider centre to support the GCM and AGCM.
  • Supporting the plant team to deliver a first-class customer experience.
  • KPI management, including sales growth, stock loss and waste management.
  • Sales floor standards and maintenance.
  • Weekly ordering through our web shops to ensure seasonality and correct stock levels.
  • Recruitment support.
  • Training and development of team.
  • Garden centre key holder.
  • Duty Manager of overall site when required.
