At British Garden Centres, we aim to deliver a great customer experience in our Centres and go above and beyond to create an exceptional service environment.

We are seeking a Garden Centre Manager to join our forward-thinking team. This role involves working in a high-volume environment with a fast turnaround.

The ideal candidate should have proven managerial experience and be physically fit, as the role is hands-on and may require some heavy lifting.

We are looking for a highly motivated individual with a passion for retail standards, sales, and customer service.

Previous Garden Centre Management experience at centre manager or deputy manager level is required.

The candidate should be able to motivate a team of managers and supervisors to work efficiently and meet deadlines.

Plant knowledge is preferable.

As a Garden Centre Manager, you will:

• Manage, lead, inspire, and develop a team
• Ensure all customers have a great in-store experience

Rate of pay is negotiable depending on experience.

Skills Required

• Excellent customer service skills
• Strong communication and team management abilities
• Experience in a similar role
• Team management experience
• Horticulture knowledge is beneficial

Duties Will Include

• Excel knowledge for managing rotas and budgeting
• Attention to detail in implementing company policies (EPOS, stock management, health & safety, security, cash handling)
• Keyholder responsibilities
• Management duties
• Achieving KPIs, managing costs and budgets
• Colleague development and succession planning
• Training and engagement of staff
• Ordering and stock taking
• Delivering excellent customer service
