We are looking for enthusiastic and customer focused Garden Centre Team Members to join our friendly team at British Garden Centres. You'll be at the heart of our daily operations - helping customers, supporting colleagues, and ensuring the Centre always looks welcoming and well presented. You'll need to be flexible and able to work additional hours during the week when required. If you enjoy working with plants, being outdoors, and being part of a hands on team, this is the perfect role for you. The work is varied, active, and a mix of dextrous tasks and physical activity, ideal for someone who likes to stay busy. This is a customer facing role across various departments, where you'll learn our EPOS systems, support with placing orders alongside our reps, and help with general merchandising and housekeeping to keep the Centre looking great.
Key Responsibilities
- Till Operation β Operate tills accurately and provide friendly service at checkout.
- Customer Assistance β Assist customers with their purchases and offer helpful product guidance.
- Phone Handling β Answer customer phone calls politely and professionally.
- Price Changes β Carry out price changes accurately across the Centre.
- Customer Service β Deliver excellent customer service at all times.
- Merchandising β Support merchandising to keep displays attractive and well stocked.
- Stock Replenishment β Replenish stock and maintain tidy, organised shop floor areas.
- Plant Care β Assist with watering, caring for, and maintaining plant stock.
- Customer Assistance to Cars β Help customers take items to their cars when needed.
- Communication Skills β Friendly, confident communicator who enjoys helping customers.
- Willingness to Learn β Keen to learn new skills, including EPOS and product knowledge.
- Team Player β Works well as part of a supportive, hands on team.
- Active & Practical β Enjoys physical, hands on work and staying busy throughout the day.
- Flexible β Able to work additional hours when required to support the Centre.
