We are currently seeking a Delivery Driver/Warehouse to join our Garden Centres. The successful candidate will be expected to complete home deliveries, so should be physically fit as this is a very hands-on role and you will need to handle large and heavy loads.
Key Responsibilities:
- Providing a first-class service in our warehouse.
- Completing various warehouse tasks safely, accurately, and efficiently while upholding the highest standards of health and safety.
- Ensuring that all goods loaded or unloaded match the relevant paperwork.
- Taking responsibility for the company’s freight and assets by reporting any suspicious activity at work.
- Storing and rotating stock according to established procedures.
- Reporting any damaged or missing goods to Warehouse Managers or Supervisors.
- Planning routes beforehand.
- Conducting stock/fixture transfers between stores when required.
- Travelling using the company vehicle across our sites.
- Liaising with different departments in the company.
- Keeping the warehouse environment clean and tidy and maintaining equipment.
- Following workplace health and safety rules when handling goods.
- Ensuring efficient operations by adhering to operational procedures, rules, and schedules.
Requirements:
- Full clean driving licence (essential).
- Comfortable driving large vehicles.
- Experience in a retail environment.
- Friendly and positive attitude, providing a great customer experience at point of delivery.
- Flexible, as some weekend working will be required.
- Good organisational skills.
