We are looking for a highly analytical and detail-oriented Corporate Affairs Researcher to support the British Fashion Council’s policy, public affairs and stakeholder engagement activity. Reporting to the Corporate Affairs Manager, this role will focus on research, insight development and evidence-building to strengthen the organisation’s positioning with government, funders and institutional partners.
The Corporate Affairs Researcher will play an important role in articulating the cultural and economic value of British fashion and identifying opportunities for policy alignment, public investment, and sector advocacy. This role is responsible for generating policy, funding and regulatory intelligence, and building the evidence base that underpins Corporate Affairs activity.
Responsibilities:- Lead research and analysis on policy developments, funding opportunities, regulatory changes and economic trends relevant to the fashion and cultural sectors.
- Produce briefings, reports and insight materials to support stakeholder engagement and policy development.
- Track government priorities, regulatory developments and public investment programmes impacting the industry.
- Interpret sector data, market intelligence and policy-relevant evidence to inform advocacy positioning and funding propositions.
- Develop evidence that underpins organisational narratives and advocacy messaging, demonstrating the value and impact of British fashion.
- Support stakeholder mapping and maintain insight on institutional relationships and policy networks.
- Provide policy and market intelligence to support international strategy and engagement.
- Contribute to consultation responses, policy submissions and public funding applications.
- Draft content and provide research inputs for corporate reporting outputs, ensuring alignment with policy, funding and sector insights.
- Monitor media, political and industry developments to inform engagement planning.
- Maintain research resources and knowledge databases to support organisational decision-making.
- Work with the Data & Insights team to ensure alignment between qualitative research and quantitative insight.
- Essential: Experience in research, analysis, policy, public affairs or related fields; strong analytical capability; excellent written communication skills; strong organisational skills and attention to detail; interest in policy, economic development or cultural sectors; ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines.
- Desirable: Experience working in fashion, creative industries or cultural organisations; understanding of government structures, policy processes or public funding frameworks; experience using data analysis or research tools; knowledge of sustainability, innovation or sector transformation themes; relevant degree in politics, economics, public policy, business or similar.
