As a Purchasing Assistant, you will be responsible for maintaining the purchasing and administration processes which support the effective running of the Procurement department.
What you’ll be doing

Process purchase requisitions.

Raise purchase orders, issue to suppliers and confirm delivery dates.

Book in non-stock items as and when required.

Expedite purchase orders, update the enterprise resource planning system (ERP) and communicate any late deliveries to internal stakeholders.

Review and negotiate supplier pricing and payment terms in relation to purchase requisitions.

Review supplier quotations ensuring they meet delivery requirements, target pricing and delivery quantity.

Monitor stock levels to replenish stock as and when needed.

Address issues relating to shortages, delivery delays and damaged goods.

Source alternative items/suppliers in relation to all purchase requisitions.

Coordinate supplier returns and exchanges.

Support suppliers to achieve on time, in full delivery of products.

Keep stakeholders informed of open purchase order queries and resolution.

Issue supplier approval questionnaires, ensuring all information received meets approval criteria.

Housekeeping of ERP database. Ensure supplier pricing, lead times, contact information is accurate.

Invoice query management.

Other admin responsibilities as and when requested., This position will be on a full time, temporary basis working 37 hours per week, dayshift. To provide its employees an improvement in work/life balance, CMP operates a 9-day fortnight (9/10) where staff employees have the opportunity to work compressed working hours and as a result have every other Friday as a day off.
