As a Project Manager you will develop and maintain the relationship with company customers to ensure committed delivery hours and outputs are achieved, providing effective leadership to those you work with.
Responsibilities
- Lead, motivate and develop teams across the business to achieve business goals, ensuring all work standards are met and aligned with company policies and procedures.
- Plan machine loading within the Cell to maximise output while reducing change over conflicts.
- Work closely with Manufacturing Engineering and external suppliers to reduce cycle times.
- Deliver purchase order requirements while minimising business risks and costs, taking opportunities to improve profitability while protecting and improving customer relationships.
- Use and maintain agreed planning tools.
- Arrange and attend various meetings including which may involve visiting the customers site.
- Manage the creation, submissions, maintenance and circulation of project plans and other status reports.
- Enhance profitability through the effective management of production costs ensuring overall production budgets are achieved.
- Manage changes to requirements and prepare, submit and negotiate variation orders.
- Identify, report and expedite progress and minimise potential risks to the production schedule.
- Ensure that you work in a safe manner and comply with the company’s Health, Safety & Environmental Policy.
- Effectively communicate and implement company policies, procedures and practices.
- Carry out any other duties not listed above as may reasonably be expected.
Who We're Looking For
To apply, we ask that you have experience of strategic planning in the manufacturing industry and in particular, businesses that manufacture components for various industries such as aerospace, oil and gas, nuclear and defence, as well as a machine shop environment. With the ability to ensure the business meets customer requirements/deadlines, candidates must demonstrate their ability to effectively communicate to maintain good relationships with customers and colleagues. The environment is ever changing and being able to strategically plan operations, complemented with the ability to adapt and work to tight deadlines is essential. You will be driven by results, with the ability to plan and deliver against production deadlines, with a keen attention to detail. As a leader, you will provide guidance to the teams you work closely with, being analytical, with proven strong problem solving skills. Due to the requirement to visit customers at their sites, candidates need to have a full UK driving licence.
This position will be on a full time, permanent basis, working dayshift 37 hours per week.
