As Certification Engineer, you will provide certification control and technical support, helping ensure CMP products are designed, documented, tested and certified in line with relevant standards, directives and quality systems.

You will work closely with Engineering, Quality, Sales and external certification bodies. Supporting design and development through CMP’s stage-gate process, you’ll help maintain regulatory compliance and deliver high-quality products.

What you'll be doing

Design, Development & Certification Support

  • Contribute to design and development projects in line with the approved stage-gate process.
  • Develop new products and design improvements based on project briefs.
  • Prepare and modify technical drawings using 3D CAD modelling and 2D drawing software.
  • Support the certification of new and modified products.

Documentation, Standards & Compliance

  • Generate and maintain parts lists and bills of materials in line with QA procedures.
  • Control approved drawings and documentation, ensuring records are accurate and stored correctly.
  • Liaise with certification bodies and provide approval drawings and supporting documentation when required.
  • Maintain a working knowledge of relevant European and international standards and directives.

Testing, Validation & Reporting

  • Conduct prototype and modified component testing where required.
  • Support product validation to meet certification and performance requirements.
  • Produce, review and store test reports in line with QA procedures.

Technical Support & Communication

  • Provide technical assistance to the Sales team and, where required, directly to customers.
  • Respond to product information requests and support problem-solving and application training.
  • Maintain effective communication with teams across CMP and the wider British Engines group.

Quality Systems & Continuous Improvement

  • Work in accordance with CMP’s quality assurance systems and procedures.
  • Support continuous improvement in certification, documentation and design processes.

Who we're looking for

To apply, you’ll have experience in an engineering, certification or technical support role, including producing technical drawings and documentation and working to quality assurance systems and procedures. Experience in a regulated or standards-driven environment, or supporting product certification or approvals, would be beneficial.

A good standard of general education is required. A qualification in Engineering or a related technical discipline is desirable. You’ll be able to produce and modify technical drawings using CAD software, manage technical documentation and data, and understand how to work within engineering standards and constraints. The ability to conduct and document product testing is important. Experience with 3D CAD modelling, bills of materials, relevant standards and liaison with certification bodies would be an advantage.

You’ll be self-motivated and well organised, with strong attention to detail, clear communication skills and a proactive approach to problem-solving and continuous improvement. The ability to work independently and collaboratively, alongside a commitment to quality, health, safety and environmental responsibilities, is essential.

This is a full-time, permanent position working day shift. To support an improved work-life balance, CMP operates a 9-day fortnight (9/10) working pattern. This allows employees to work compressed hours and, as a result, enjoy every other Friday off.
