As a Structures Inspector for XEIAD, part of British Engineering Services Group, you ensure our clients' infrastructure is safe for use and fit for purpose. You will be responsible for the successful completion of Structural Inspections, Investigations and Surveys on a wide range of infrastructure civil engineering assets across the highways sector.
You will:
- Use specialist access to inspect and examine a variety of structures throughout the UK in accordance with the required technical standards/specifications.
- Lead the safe and successful delivery of Structural Inspections, Investigations and Surveys.
- Support pre-work planning activities including attendance at pre-site visits, liaison with landowners, agents or contractors, review and acceptance of proposed safe systems of work.
- Prepare inspection reports, including the production of drawings within CAD.
- Work as part of a growing team on highway infrastructure.
Experience and qualifications:
- Experience in a Structures Inspection role.
- Knowledge/awareness of industry standards under the Design Manual for Road and Bridges (DMRB).
- Familiarity with CS450 and the Inspection Manual for Highways Structures.
- Aware of the Senior or Inspector level qualification under the Bridge Inspector Certification Scheme (BICS).
- Experience in the use of asset management software, including IAMIS, AGILE, Bridge Station or equivalent platforms.
- Degree/HNC/HND in civil or structures engineering (desirable).
- Be prepared to travel and work nationwide.
- Ability to work at height and within confined spaces.
- Full UK Driving license.
