Through Inspire Structures, our specialist teams deliver high‑precision inspections and engineering solutions for assets including rail,highwayand airside structures. Using a wide range of specialist access techniques, including rope access, confined space entry, underwaterinspectionsand drone surveys,we’reable to safely inspect and assess even the most challenging locations, providing our customers with reliable insight into the condition and integrity of their assets.
Inspired Access Solutions works with its customers to support them with rope access and innovative suspended access systems for challenging structures.
This role requires a combination of homebased working and working from one of our offices – Manchester or Ilkeston.
What will you be doing?
Inspire Structures and Inspired Access are seeking two commercially focused Business Development Leads to support the growth of our structural inspection and specialist access workstreams.
As a Business Development Lead for Inspire, part of British Engineering Services Group, you will work closely with clients, operational teams and the wider supplier chain to drive the growth of our infrastructure investigation, inspection, enabling and specialist access services.
You will:
- Identify opportunities, develop solutions and lead commercial discussions that convert client requirements into profitable contracts.
- Combine your technical knowledge with strong commercial awareness to take ownership of opportunities from initial enquiry through to successful contract award and operational handover.
- Develop and maintain strong relationships with existing and prospective clients across the infrastructure sector.
- Prepare and present commercially competitive tenders, quotations and bids.
- Carry out pre-tender planning, desktop studies, site visits and client engagement activities.
- Present bid proposals at review meetings, providing clear recommendations on commercial, operational and technical considerations.

To join our team, you will need:
- Level 3 qualification in Engineering/Surveying/Project Management or Bridge Inspection competency (e.g. BICS/STE4/STE7).
- Extensive experience within the specialist access sector (Roped Access Techniques)
- Hold IOSH Managing Safely qualification.
- Extensive experience within infrastructure inspections, structural examinations, surveying environments and the specialist access/rope access sector, including experience with large scale roped access or suspended access systems
- Experienced and competent in the use of Microsoft Excel.
- Experience managing complex programmes of work and coordinating multiple stakeholders.
- UK Driving License.
