Adventure Bike Rider (ABR) is the UK’s leading motorcycle travel magazine and the team behind the UK’s biggest motorcycle festival – the ABR Festival. We’re looking for a talented, full-time staff writer to join our small, passionate team based in Stratford upon Avon. You’ll be writing for a print magazine that riders look forward to receiving and a website which is visited by thousands of motorcyclists each month. When you’re not doing that, you’ll be helping shape the voice of one of the fastest growing festivals in the UK. If the idea of combining journalism, adventure, motorcycles, and events gets you going, keep reading.
What you’ll do:
- Write high-quality, engaging content for ABR magazine and the ABR website – features, interviews, gear reviews, travel stories, news, and more.
- Produce compelling copy for ABR Festival marketing campaigns – from email newsletters to social media posts and everything in between.
- Conduct interviews with riders, adventurers, celebrities, and key industry figures.
- Help brainstorm ideas for upcoming issues, content series, and advertorial promotions.
- Collaborate with the editorial, marketing, and sales teams to ensure a consistent brand tone across print and digital.
- Occasionally travel to events, shows, motorcycle launches, and the odd two-wheeled adventure, including UK routes for each issue of the magazine.
- Proofread and edit content to ensure editorial excellence and check content for accuracy, style, and brand consistency.
- Take ownership of the weekly ABR Newsletter, curating and producing engaging content for subscribers.
What we’re looking for:
- A strong writer with a flair for storytelling and a passion for motorcycles and travel.
- Experience in writing for magazines, newspapers, blogs, or digital media.
- Ability to write clean, accurate, and entertaining copy to deadline.
- A self-starter who’s comfortable switching between writing long-form features and short, snappy web or social content.
- Someone who’s genuinely interested in the ABR audience.
- Bonus points if you have experience with photography, videography, and content planning.
What you’ll get:
- The chance to work on a respected print magazine and one of the UK’s most exciting festivals.
- A supportive, tight-knit team who love what they do.
- An office location on the outskirts of beautiful Stratford upon Avon.
- A long-term motorcycle loan as part of your role.
- Access to the latest motorcycle gear and accessories for review purposes.
- The opportunity to travel on exciting motorcycle-related launches, trips, tours, and events.
- The opportunity to grow within a fast-paced, ambitious business.
- Company events.
- Free parking.
- On-site parking.
Ability to commute/relocate Stratford-upon-Avon CV37 9RQ: reliably commute or plan to relocate before starting work (required). Please note: Due to the location of our office, you won’t be able to rely on public transport to get to and from work, so a valid UK driving licence is required. A motorcycle licence is also beneficial.
A short cover letter outlining why you’re a good fit for the role and a sample of your writing (either attached or provided as a link) are required.
We thank everyone for applying for the role, but only those who are selected for interviews will be contacted by us.
