Are you seeking a new opportunity where you can apply your analytical and organisational skills to contribute to helping make the roads of Greater Manchester safer?

As a Senior Business Support Officer, you will monitor and analyse DriveSafe client demand, manage DriveSafe course availability, manage Trainer course allocation, and use your data analysis skills to identify booking patterns, arrange course venues and liaise with our stakeholders both internally and externally.

Who are we? DriveSafe is a key partner of Safer Roads Greater Manchester, a multi-agency partnership committed to Vision Zero – a strategy to eliminate all traffic fatalities and life-changing injuries, while increasing safe, healthy and equitable mobility for all. We are responsible for delivering the National Driver Offender Retraining Scheme (NDORS), such as Speed Awareness Courses, on behalf of Greater Manchester Police. This is a busy and exciting time for DriveSafe as our online and venue driver retraining courses develop. This opportunity will allow you to be involved in ensuring we meet client demand and help shape the future of DriveSafe and the delivery of our courses.

What you’ll bring: Using your expertise in BSL, you will promote DriveSafe amongst the Deaf communities, raising their awareness of the availability of NDORS courses delivered in BSL. You will support Deaf clients through their DriveSafe journey and be a source of technical help for both Deaf clients and trainers alike. You will have experience of using multiple software systems, video communication apps, social media channels and be able to analyse complex spreadsheet data and provide solutions. You will also have experience of engaging and communicating with stakeholders with a range of requirements and have excellent communication skills. You’ll also provide a range of administrative support to DriveSafe managers and will be educated to at least ‘A’ level, BSL level 3 or equivalent.

What we can offer you: This is a permanent role and comes with a salary of £36,093 – £41,161 per annum depending on experience, working with supportive colleagues and opportunities to collaborate across teams. At TfGM we encourage candidates to discuss flexible working options at any stage of the recruitment process. Our benefits include:

  • 28 days holiday per annum (plus bank holidays)
  • Flexible and hybrid working options to promote and support a good work/life balance
  • Free bus travel within Greater Manchester and free rail or Metrolink travel to and from work within the Greater Manchester boundary.
  • Local Government Defined Benefit Pension Scheme which includes life cover of 3x your salary and options to increase your pension contributions
  • Commitment to learning and personal development and upskilling with reimbursement of professional fees, where essential to the role
  • We promote good physical and mental health and can provide additional support to staff via our employee assistance programme when required

What’s next? TfGM is proud to be an equal opportunities employer that encourages and celebrates diversity. We want to recruit and retain a workforce that reflects the communities we serve and welcome individuals from all backgrounds by committing to providing a fully inclusive and accessible recruitment process.
