We have embarked on an exciting new journey, with a modernised commercial and events offering grounded in social impact and storytelling, harnessing the inspiration of our athletes’ performances on the world stage and our growing portfolio of major events.

We are working towards the three priorities in our strategy, to support and grow the sport, make cycling more inclusive and accessible, lead on the world stage by winning and winning well, and drive social impact by tackling inequalities through providing opportunities.

Role Overview

This is an exciting time to join British Cycling. With our new home for learning now live, we have an opportunity to transform how people discover, access and continue their learning across cycling. We are looking for a creative, driven and highly collaborative Learning Manager to lead high-quality learning products for coaches, volunteers, officials and riders as our offer grows. You will manage and develop a team of four specialist learning leads. Together, you will improve our existing suite, package learning in new ways, reach new audiences and develop sustainable income. Working with our team, tutors and delivery providers, you will create accessible products and experiences that spark curiosity, build confidence and inspire a lifelong love of learning, extending our reach and impact while generating sustainable income.

What will you be doing?

  • Leading the development and delivery of courses, digital content and blended learning products, from identifying the need through to implementation at scale.
  • Turning audience needs and organisational priorities into relevant, accessible and scalable learning offers.
  • Managing products from concept to implementation, evaluation and improvement, deciding when to create, adapt, package or withdraw them.
  • Overseeing delivery models, logistics, resources, pricing and budgets to support effective and financially sustainable delivery.
  • Leading and developing four specialist learning leads, setting clear priorities and building an accountable and collaborative culture.
  • Working with colleagues, subject experts, tutors, partners and external providers to improve and extend our learning offer.
  • Owning quality assurance and the learner experience across content, delivery and learner journeys.
  • Using data, feedback and insight to understand reach, quality, impact and customer satisfaction.
  • Developing sustainable value through product packaging, partnerships, sales and income generation, while keeping learning accessible.

What are we looking for?

  • Strong expertise in learning design and product development, including digital, face to face and blended learning.
  • Experience taking learning products from an identified need through development and implementation to evaluation and improvement.
  • Strong product and project management skills, with the creativity and tenacity to move complex work forward.
  • Experience planning and delivering learning products across different audiences, locations or channels.
  • Strong operational and commercial judgement, including delivery models, resources, pricing and budgets.
  • The ability to assess audience demand, delivery costs and product potential, focusing effort where it will create the greatest impact and value.
  • The ability to balance accessibility, learning quality, learner needs and financial sustainability.
  • Proven experience of leading, managing and developing people.
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills, with the confidence to listen, challenge constructively and shape practical solutions.
  • Experience of quality assurance, evaluation and continuous improvement.
  • Identifying new audiences and commercial opportunities, using insight to shape products, partnerships and routes to market that grow reach and sustainable income.

It would be beneficial to have experience of learning management systems, customer relationship management systems, booking platforms or other digital delivery models. Commercial experience covering product packaging, partnerships, marketing, sales or income generation would also be valuable.

You do not need to come from cycling, but you will care about the difference great learning can make. We welcome applicants from learning and development, education, digital learning, workforce development and related product environments.

  • Competitive Salary
  • Cycle to Work Scheme
