BCGA is pleased to announce that the search for its new Chief Executive Officer has begun.
The British Compressed Gases Association (BCGA) is the leading UK trade association representing the interests of 100+ member companies. These companies, in the industrial, food and medical gases industries, include manufacturers and suppliers of liquefied, dissolved and compressed gases as well as the associated gaseous pressure systems, pipework, components and related equipment. Members also provide specialist safety, health, environment, quality, inspection and training services. Today, BCGA members employ over 19,000 people directly and account for an annual turnover of over £2.7 bn.
The new Chief Executive Officer will lead BCGA and deliver its mission as the UK's authoritative body for safety, standards and best practice across the industrial and medical gases sector.
Responsibilities include:
- Setting and delivering BCGA's strategic direction, ensuring the Association remains relevant, influential and responsive to sector priorities.
- Leading effective operational delivery, financial stewardship and robust governance in partnership with the BCGA Council.
- Safeguarding and strengthening BCGA's reputation as a trusted technical authority on safety, standards and best practice.
- Representing BCGA and the wider compressed gases sector with credibility, impartiality and integrity to members, regulators, government and industry stakeholders.
Requirements include:
- Senior leadership experience, ideally gained in a complex, technical, regulated or membership-based organisation.
- Experience of operating successfully in environments where safety, standards, governance and stakeholder confidence are critical.
- Experience engaging with government, regulators, industry bodies or professional institutions.
- Aware of the challenges and opportunities facing technical, regulated and safety-critical sectors.
