Position Overview: The Administrative Assistant will support the BCC team, ensuring our organisation's efficient and effective operation. The successful candidate will be responsible for handling various administrative tasks, contributing to the overall success of our mission.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide administrative support to the executive team and other committee members.
  • Manage and organize BCC operations, including invoices, digital filing, data entry, and correspondence.
  • Schedule and coordinate meetings, appointments, and events.
  • Prepare and distribute meeting agendas, minutes, and other relevant documents.
  • Assist in the preparation of reports, presentations, and other materials.
  • Maintain and update the BCC’s website, database, and contact lists.
  • Handle communications and inquiries, directing them to the appropriate committee members.
  • Assist with the planning and execution of events and initiatives related to cryogenic technology.
  • Support the coordination of communications and collaborations with members and stakeholders.
  • Preparation of the Low Temperature News (LTN) and other digital communications.
  • Perform other duties as assigned to support the BCC's goals.

Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or equivalent; additional education or certifications in office administration or related fields are a plus.
  • Proven experience in an administrative or office support role.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook).
  • Ability to handle multiple tasks and prioritize effectively.
  • Attention to detail and accuracy in work.
  • A positive attitude and being a team player.

This is a part-time position, nominally 30 hours per month, at £16 per hour, leading to an anticipated monthly gross salary of £480. The position is provided on a self-employed basis, and the person appointed should submit monthly invoices.
