Role purpose

The role is responsible for supporting the Proposition Development Manager to develop compelling, customer-centered propositions that bring together products, services, and experiences into coherent, value-generating offerings aligned to British Council’s strategic priorities in English and Exams. This role will help ensure relevance, differentiation, and commercial viability for new propositions and proposition enhancements across diverse markets.

Role Accountabilities

  • Proposition Development
    • Support with monitoring market, customer and stakeholder trends to identify and support proposition opportunities.
    • Shares insights through internal networks to inform product development and planning.
    • Engages in working groups to maintain understanding of current and future propositions.
    • Collaborates with Marketing on research and analysis to identify opportunities and support ROI.
    • Works with Product and Operations to develop business cases and secure investment.
    • Advises on budgets and supports commissioning of product development.
    • Tracks proposition performance and ROI with relevant stakeholders.
  • Relationship & Stakeholder Management
    • Builds and manages stakeholder and partner relationships to achieve development targets.
    • Collaborates across teams (account managers, SBU and regional colleagues) and networks to support coordinated strategies.
    • Communicates proposition updates and operational requirements to relevant teams.
  • Leadership & Management
    • Plans and oversees delivery of proposition development workplans across teams and regions.

Qualifications and experience

Qualifications and Education: Educated to degree level or equivalent work experience.

Language Requirement: The British Council systems and global processes operate in English. Written and verbal proficiency in English is required.

Work experience

  • Essential: Experience of working in an Exams environment.
  • Desirable: Experience of working in a Regulated High-stakes assessment Environment.

Important information

British Council Pay band: Grade 7/F UK: Annual salary from £30,839 to £33,995.50 (gross) Poland: Monthly salary from PLN 11,230 to PLN 14,040 (gross).
