Professional Skills Trainer (Hourly Paid)

Role Purpose: To plan, develop, deliver and review high-quality written and interpersonal communication skills workshops (face-to-face and online) that ensure client satisfaction and support the business and wider aims of Professional Skills in Singapore.

Main accountabilities: The British Council is looking for experienced and engaging Professional Skills Trainers to join our team in Singapore on an hourly-paid basis. In this role, you will plan, prepare and deliver high-quality professional skills and business communication training for clients across public and private sectors. You will create engaging, learner-centred experiences, adapt programmes to different audiences and workplace contexts, and provide constructive feedback to support participants’ development. The role requires strong capability in course and session planning, understanding adult learners, subject knowledge, facilitation skills and the effective use of learning technologies. You will also contribute to programme customisation by conducting needs analysis, researching relevant subject areas, adapting learning materials and developing practical content, activities and case studies. We are looking for professionals with relevant business experience and a proven track record in delivering soft skills and business communication training. Experience working in a business function, ideally in a leadership or managerial role such as finance, sales and marketing, operations or a related area, would be an advantage. Experience developing or delivering online and blended training programmes is also desirable. Role specific knowledge, skills and experience:

• Undergraduate/University degree
• High proficiency in English, i.e. full mastery across all four skills (equivalent to CEFR C2 or IELTS Band 8/9)
• 4 and above years of Training Experience required
• Relevant work experience, with a proven track record of delivering soft skills and business communication courses to clients from public and/or private sectors
• Prior experience of working in a business function, ideally in a leadership position (e.g. finance, sales and marketing, operations)
• Developing and/or delivering online and blended training programmes

Condition of Employment: Language: Strong English proficiency is crucial for this role, requiring fluency in both written and spoken communication to effectively navigate British Council systems and international operations. Please note: Interviews will be conducted primarily in English. The successful candidate must be able to speak and write well in English, as this is essential for the role.
