The Department for Education has announced that the British Council is set to take on the role of National Agency for Erasmus+. In December the UK and EU arrived at a political agreement that the UK would rejoin the Erasmus+ scheme in 2027. That agreement has now been legally formalised under the EU-UK Trade and Cooperation Agreement. The British Council has a longstanding commitment to supporting international exchange. It was a lead partner in the Erasmus+ UK National Agency from 2014-20, where Erasmus+ made a significant contribution to the UK's cultural relations activities, funding 8,091 projects, engaging 583,757 UK participants, and awarding around €1.1 billion to UK organisations.

Pay Band: 7

Salary: £30,839 gross per annum plus £3,300 per annum London Market Allowance for those in the London area only.

Contract Duration: 2 Year Fixed Term Contract with possibility of extension

Location: Belfast

Role Purpose: The E+ Eurodesk Manager will support the delivery and impact of the Eurodesk service within the Erasmus+ programme by coordinating day-to-day operations, managing partner relationships, and delivering high-quality information and outreach activities. The role will ensure young people and youth professionals have access to accurate, engaging, and inclusive information about international mobility opportunities, and will contribute to increasing participation, particularly among underrepresented groups.

Main Responsibilities:

  • Supporting the delivery of the national Eurodesk programme plan, ensuring activities are delivered effectively and on schedule
  • Coordinating activity plans, timelines, reporting requirements, and programme documentation
  • Monitoring and evaluating programme activities to track performance, impact, and delivery outcomes
  • Managing and developing the Eurodesk partner network (multipliers), promoting quality, consistency, and best practice
  • Acting as a key point of contact for partners, providing guidance, support, and timely communication
  • Coordinating partner communications, meetings, training, and development activities
  • Delivering outreach and engagement campaigns to promote Erasmus+ opportunities to young people
  • Developing accessible, engaging, and inclusive digital content and information resources
  • Supporting budget monitoring, data collection, reporting, and compliance with programme requirements
  • Building effective relationships with youth organisations, partners, and wider stakeholders

Role Specific Knowledge & Experience:

Essential

  • Experience supporting delivery of programmes or services in youth, education, or mobility sectors
  • Experience working with Erasmus+ or similar funded programmes
  • Experience working with partners or networks across multiple organisations
  • Experience delivering communications, outreach, or engagement activity
  • Experience supporting budget management and programme administration
  • Experience using data or feedback for monitoring and reporting

Desirable

  • Knowledge of the Eurodesk network and tools
  • Experience in digital campaigns or social media engagement
  • Experience working in international or cross-cultural contexts
  • Experience working in youth information, youth engagement or youth participation services

Specific Requirements:

  • Degree or equivalent work experience.
  • Programme/Project Management qualification (e.g. PRINCE2, MSP, PMP) or willingness to work towards one.
