Are you a confident communicator with an interest in policy who enjoys turning complex information into clear, engaging content? In this role, you’ll support BCF’s programmes by delivering marketing and digital communications (social media, newsletters and website updates), developing high quality copy and campaign materials, and helping the team stay on top of policy and regulatory activity through research, briefings and consultation support. You’ll work with colleagues and external stakeholders to ensure our messages are consistent, timely and impactful.

Defined Responsibilities

  • Marketing & Digital Communications
    • Produce and schedule social media content across LinkedIn, X, and other channels.
    • Track engagement metrics and prepare monthly analytics summaries.
    • Draft marketing copy for newsletters, website updates, and campaign materials.
    • Support the development of marketing collateral such as presentations, brochures, and infographics.
    • Maintain content calendars and ensure timely delivery of communications outputs.
  • Copywriting & Editorial Content Development
    • Generate ideas for blog posts, editorials, and thought leadership pieces aligned with BCF priorities.
    • Draft clear, engaging copy for blogs, newsletters, website pages, and campaign materials.
    • Coordinate with subject matter experts to gather insights, quotes, and technical content.
    • Request content contributions from relevant teams and manage follow ups to ensure timely delivery.
    • Support the development of an editorial calendar and contribute to long term content planning.
  • Outreach & Stakeholder Engagement
    • Coordinate outreach to industry partners, academic institutions, and community groups.
    • Assist in organising events, workshops, and webinars, including logistics and attendee communications.
    • Maintain stakeholder databases and update contact lists.
    • Prepare briefing notes and background research for meetings with external partners.
    • Support follow up communications and track engagement outcomes.
  • Communications & Editorial Support
    • Draft and edit internal and external communications, including announcements, reports, and policy summaries.
    • Assist in preparing slide decks, talking points, and briefing materials for senior staff.
    • Monitor sector relevant news and prepare weekly or monthly digests.
    • Ensure consistent tone, branding, and messaging across all BCF outputs.
    • Contribute to the development of communication strategies and campaign plans.
  • Regulatory & Policy Support
    • Assist in preparing regulatory submissions, consultation responses, and compliance documentation.
    • Conduct research on regulatory frameworks, policy developments, and industry standards.
    • Maintain organised records of regulatory deadlines, submissions, and correspondence.
    • Support internal coordination to gather information required for regulatory reporting.
    • Help draft summaries of regulatory changes for internal and external audiences.
    • Support the Regulatory Affairs team with project-based delivery.
  • Operational & Administrative Support
    • Maintain shared folders, project trackers, and documentation libraries.
    • Support cross team coordination and contribute to multi disciplinary projects.
    • Assist with meeting scheduling, minute taking, and action tracking.
    • Provide general administrative support to ensure smooth delivery of BCF programmes.

Education Prerequisites

A strong candidate would likely come from one of these backgrounds:

  • Possible Degrees (Achieving/Predicted 2:1 or above):
  • Communications, Marketing, Media, or Public Relations
  • Politics, Public Policy, International Relations, Business, Social Sciences or Humanities

Additional Notes

  • Experience through internships, student societies, or volunteering is valuable but not essential.
  • Time management and organisational skills are essential to the role.
  • Willingness to learn creative skills to support communications output is desirable.
  • No specialist regulatory experience required - just interest and willingness to learn.
