THE ROLE
As Technical Architecture Director, you will be a key member of the Chief Operating Officer's leadership team, helping to shape the organisation's technology direction and long-term strategy. You will lead the architecture function and define how technology, data and AI solutions work together across platforms, systems and services to support business goals and future growth.
This is an opportunity to influence organisation-wide change and create the strategic blueprint for how technology interacts across the business. You will develop architecture roadmaps, guide technology investment decisions and ensure systems, applications, data and infrastructure work together effectively. Your expertise will help create a secure, scalable and connected technology landscape that supports both current priorities and future ambitions.
Working closely with senior leaders and a wide range of stakeholders, you will translate complex technical concepts into clear business outcomes, enabling informed decision-making and supporting major transformation initiatives. You will provide leadership to specialist architecture teams, establish effective governance and encourage a collaborative approach to technology design and delivery.
To succeed in this role, you will bring significant experience in enterprise architecture leadership, ideally within financial services or another regulated environment. You will have experience developing technology strategy, leading architecture teams, managing supplier relationships and influencing senior stakeholders. You will also be confident balancing long‑term technology planning with practical delivery considerations. Experience of banking platforms, data governance, cyber security and enterprise integration approaches would be advantageous but is not essential.
In return, you will join a collaborative organisation where you can make a meaningful impact, shape the future technology strategy and support the development of architecture capability across the business.
