Hours: Full time 37.5 hours per week, flexible days and/or hours (Mon‑Fri)

Salary: Up to £61,800 (Sheffield) / £72,100 (London) depending on experience

Responsibilities

  • Appraise and conduct due diligence on new direct equity investment opportunities, with emphasis on Life Sciences.
  • Perform scientific, commercial, financial and investment analysis, including modelling and detailed review of company performance and forecasts.
  • Coordinate external advisers and collaborate with internal Legal, Risk and Finance teams throughout the investment process.
  • Support the execution of transactions and contribute to portfolio monitoring, reporting and wider team activities across the Direct Equity portfolio.

Qualifications

  • Demonstrable knowledge of venture capital investing in Life Sciences and a commercial understanding of high‑growth businesses.
  • Excellent analytical capability, including financial analysis and modelling.
  • Exceptional communication, stakeholder management skills and confidence to build relationships internally and externally.
  • Degree essential; experience supporting investment transactions or working in venture‑backed, start‑up or growth environments advantageous.
  • Collaborative, proactive approach and able to work effectively in a small, agile team.
