Investment Analyst Funds (Entry Level)

At British Business Bank (BBB), we are the largest investor in UK venture and growth capital funds, managing £6bn with an additional £5.5bn to deploy. You will be joining a collaborative team and as an Investment Analyst, you’ll support the evaluation, structuring, and management of private debt funds, FinTech lenders, and the Regional Angel Programme working with fund managers, lenders and investors.
You will be able to demonstrate a good understanding of finance and macroeconomics, and have strong skills in data analysis, including summarising or communicating outputs. Practical experience using MS Office software is also essential. An interest in debt, financial markets, or venture capital is preferred.
As a Sheffield based role, it is expected that you will attend the office a minimum of 3 days per week, to benefit personally and professionally from being present in a collaborative work environment. You will be working closely with the wider investment team, our in-house legal, risk and finance teams. You’ll build strong meaningful workplace connections, gaining exposure to a wide variety of stakeholders and advisors.
What You’ll Be Doing
- Assisting in the investment process by drafting internal investment papers and helping assess different business models for the delivery of debt and equity products.
- Supporting portfolio management by maintaining data and valuations, monitoring performance, and helping prepare portfolio reporting and analysis.
- Collaborating with colleagues to monitor fund manager correspondence, initiate drawdowns and distributions, and keep accurate records of internal and external meetings.
- Working with our reporting and finance functions to track portfolio performance and supporting our relationships with trusted third-party contractors.
