The Role We have an opportunity for a strategic, results-driven Financial Management Director to join our Financial Planning & Analysis (FP&A) team. Reporting into the Senior Director of FP&A, this critical leadership role will shape financial planning, management reporting and business partnering across the Bank. You will lead the finance business partnering function and provide timely, strategic, value adding analysis to enable finance data to underpin and establish a culture of strong evidenced based decision making. In This Position, You Will
- Lead the financial management branch of FP&A, providing robust in-year budget oversight and control
- Oversee a dedicated Finance Business Partnering function that supports each ExCo member to ensure financial decisions align with strategic goals and deliver value for money
- Develop insightful reporting and forecasting to support the Executive Committee and Board
- Ensure efficient and accurate delivery of monthly management accounts and internal CFO reports
- Provide strategic financial appraisal and business case analysis for operational and investment initiatives
You will also support risk mitigation through proactive analysis and forward-looking financial insight and provide guidance to budget holders in identifying efficiencies, benchmarking with functions across Government ALBβs to demonstrate value for money. With responsibility for leading a high-performing team of ten finance professionals, you will foster a culture of excellence and continuous improvement. Experience
You must have proven experience in Finance Business Partnering at an Executive and Board level, with demonstrable strategic thinking, and the ability to translate complex data into decision-ready insight. You will be fully CCAB qualified, with a strong track record in Management Accounting, including budgeting and in-year control. You will also be able to demonstrate excellent stakeholder engagement and influencing skills, and be an effective communicator with a variety of stakeholders. Knowledge of Government finance frameworks such as MPM and CBG and experience in workforce planning and counter-fraud risk assessment would be highly desirable, along with active CPD and up-to-date understanding of accounting standards.
