THE ROLE
We are looking for an Investment Manager to join our Commercial Equity Funds team in the Capital Allocation department. This role sits within our Investment division and reports to the Senior Director, Life Sciences.
In this role, you will review new venture and venture growth fund investment opportunities, with a focus on life sciences. You will look at fund proposals, assess financial and investment information, support due diligence, help prepare investment papers, and work with legal advisers and internal teams to review investment documents.
You will also help manage a portfolio of life sciences fund investments. This may include attending advisory board meetings, preparing reports and analysis, responding to queries, supporting co-investment activity, and helping to resolve matters that arise across the portfolio.
We are looking for someone with investment or industry experience in life sciences, including healthcare, biotechnology or pharmaceuticals. You will need to understand financial accounts and reporting, be comfortable using Microsoft Office, and be able to communicate clearly with colleagues, advisers and external partners.
You will enjoy working with others, be able to organise your work, meet deadlines and use sound judgement when reviewing information or supporting investment decisions. Experience in fund management, investment banking, corporate finance, commercial lending or life sciences venture capital would be helpful, but we welcome applications from people who can show relevant experience in different ways.
You may have a degree in an analytical subject such as economics, accounting, law, engineering or science, or you may have gained equivalent skills through your work. A professional accounting qualification, investment management certificate, postgraduate life sciences qualification or investment management qualification would be useful, but is not essential.
