Job Introduction: You will work at the heart of the BBC newsroom, producing stories, videos and working on live pages on the biggest daily news, bringing in many millions of users from the UK and around the world.

Main Responsibilities:

  • A Journalist on the Digital News team will be expected to write accurate, pithy news stories, live page posts and produce timely digital video - with flair and context.
  • You will have a love of news, sharp writing and editing skills and a thoughtful approach to how we tell a story.
  • Tasks could range from jumping on a breaking news live page, to writing a news story and working with a correspondent on analysis, or producing fast turnaround video of key news moments.
  • The team needs people with experience in text and video on digital news platforms who can quickly produce clear and accurate copy and identify key news lines and context.
  • You will have useful and creative approaches to the big stories in the UK and around the world, including the best formats and visual treatments.
  • These shift-based roles will include weekend and nights.

  • Experience of producing and editing news video that will appeal to digital news consumers.

  • A track record of covering the UK and international news agenda.
