Salary: £44,000-£58,000 (inclusive of London Weighting if London based), dependent upon experience
Location: Salford, Birmingham, London with some flexibility – i.e. hybrid working

Job Purpose
Internal Communications and Engagement (IC&E) sits at the heart of the BBC. It connects our people to our strategy and priorities; supports collaboration and knowledge sharing by sharing best practice and celebrating success; and gives colleagues a voice to help inform the experience of working at the BBC.
We are seeking a talented communications professional with demonstrable experience in channel management and delivery for this Internal Communication and Engagement Lead – Channels role, joining our Corporate Communications unit.
Key Responsibilities And Accountabilities
As the Internal Communications and Engagement Lead – Channels, reporting to the Corporate Communications team Business Partner, you’ll work as part of a team to lead our channels strategy, manage key communication tools (including our intranet, apps, internal print, and digital signage), and collaborate with teams across the business.
You’ll also be a trusted advisor to senior leadership and play a vital role in creating best practices that ensure consistency, message clarity, and high engagement. You’ll also partner with all areas of the internal communications team, as well as manage relationships with key company stakeholders, such as counterparts in our Brand Communications team, as well as work with key internal stakeholders to shape and develop exceptional, impactful channels for BBC staff.
Knowledge, Skills, Training & Experience
To be successful in this role you will need:
- Proven experience of channel ownership and management, including oversight of major internal broadcasts, digital signage, and townhall broadcasts;
- Outstanding planning and organisation skills, including management of content calendars, and the ability to oversee multiple high profile and demanding projects simultaneously;
- Ability to create eye-catching assets to aid promotion of key content and help drive communication campaigns, including billboards, headers, banners and materials/slides;
- A first class creative approach and appreciation of outstanding communications techniques both internal and external, providing best practice guidance to colleagues;
- Proven experience of an insight driven approach and best practice measurement techniques;
- Brilliant interpersonal and communication skills.
