The Cinema Content Co-ordinator is responsible for the seamless coordination of content scheduling and screening operations. This role serves as the primary contact for cinema clients, manages the BBFC’s crucial daily viewing schedule, and provides essential first-line support across internal and external service desks.

Key functions:

  • Act as the primary point of contact for all cinema industry clients regarding submissions and scheduling.
  • Hold primary responsibility for the BBFC’s cinema schedule.
  • Manage the operation of projection equipment and the BBFC’s screening rooms to facilitate classification viewings.

Duties

Scheduling and Client Liaison:

  • Prepare and manage the daily film viewing schedule in advance, ensuring strict adherence to BBFC policy and procedural requirements.
  • Manage all submission bookings, maintaining consistent and accurate records.
  • Act as the key liaison point with the film industry regarding film bookings and content delivery.
  • Coordinate the booking of external facilities for viewing when BBFC screening rooms are unavailable.

Screening and Technical Support:

  • Prepare content for viewing by the Compliance team.
  • Operate and screen films within the BBFC screening rooms, providing support to the Compliance team during theatrical viewings.
  • Research submissions for classification/approval, ensuring that all available sources of information are utilised.
  • Maintain and organise the BBFC’s archive metadata both current and historical.
  • Process submissions (cinema and home entertainment).

Information Management and Service Desk:

  • Provide effective first-line support for internal staff queries via platforms like Slack, and external customer queries via telephone and email.
  • Carry out any other duties of a similar nature as may be required by management.

Personal Specification

Essential Skills and Experience

  • Professional Experience: Proven experience in a customer service or coordination role. Demonstrable experience using booking systems and managing complex scheduling/logistics.
  • Technical Proficiency: Experience with G-Suite or Microsoft Office. A good understanding of digital technology and audio-visual media concepts.
  • Personal Attributes: Strong verbal and written communication skills. A "can-do" attitude and demonstrable proactive willingness to support team objectives. Exceptional organisational skills and meticulous attention to detail. Proven ability to work independently while also effectively collaborating with external partners. A creative problem-solver capable of addressing technical issues and scheduling conflicts efficiently. Punctual with proven time management skills and the ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines.

Desirable Skills:

  • Working knowledge or hands-on experience with digital cinema projectors.

What We Offer:

  • Salary: £28k - £31k per annum (depending on experience).
  • Contract Period: Permanent.
  • Full Time: 40 hours per week (8 hours per day).
  • 25 days holiday per full year (increasing by one day each year to a maximum of 30 days).
