NCSEM are delighted to share an exciting new opportunity following confirmation of Sport England Place Expansion investment to join the Sheffield National Centre for Sport & Exercise Medicine (NCSEM). NCSEM is inviting expressions of interest for a Strategic Health Advisor to provide senior clinical and health system leadership across our place‑based work to improve physical activity, prevention and health outcomes for Sheffield residents. This is a unique opportunity to help shape a nationally recognised whole‑system approach, working across NHS partners, local authority, community organisations and sport sector partners to reduce inequalities and strengthen prevention through physical activity.

About the role:

  • Strengthening engagement with health and care partners
  • Shaping pathways that embed physical activity within prevention, treatment and recovery
  • Supporting long-term sustainability and future investment
  • Championing movement as a driver of improved population health

The post will be hosted through the NCSEM Sheffield partnership, working to deliver the Move More strategy, alongside key city partners.

Key information:

  • Time commitment: 0.2 FTE (approx. one day per week)
  • Basis: Secondment opportunity
  • Duration: 2 years
  • Location: Hybrid, with some in‑person meetings in Sheffield
  • Closing date: Friday 22 May 2026
