Active Together are seeking to recruit new Board Members. They will be individuals who have gained public respect and credibility, who bring with them personal and professional knowledge, expertise and lived experience to support Active Together achieve its strategic priorities to reduce physical inactivity levels and tackle inequalities.
New Board Members will require knowledge and understanding of the strategic issues influencing the development of physical activity and sport in one or more of the following: local government, voluntary sector sport, health, community, children and young people and private sector. What matters most is your passion to address inequality, your ability to connect and your commitment to making physical activity and sport matter.
It would be advantageous if you had a close association or affiliation with physical activity, sport or health in Leicestershire, Leicester and Rutland. These are voluntary positions and for an initial three year period (this could be extended for up to 9 years) from the date of appointment. We anticipate a commitment of a minimum 4 to 6 days approximately per calendar year, including your attendance at 4 Board meetings a year. Appropriate expenses will be paid.
