We’re looking for a Head of Communications & Marketing to lead the strategic communications and marketing function of the organisation, shaping how people, organisations and systems understand the role of physical activity in creating healthier, fairer communities.
About the role Yorkshire Sport Foundation is a National Lottery‑funded charity working across South Yorkshire and West Yorkshire, and part of a network of England‑wide Active Partnerships.
We are passionate about making it easier for everyone to be active, and recognise that good ideas, strong evidence and inspiring stories need to be communicated effectively to bring lasting change.
The Head of Communications & Marketing will translate complex evidence into clear and persuasive narratives, use insight and behavioural science to influence action, and help partners across the system create greater impact.
The role works closely with the CEO, senior members of the organisation and regional partners, and requires a blend of strategic thinking and practical execution to drive meaningful outcomes.
Key responsibilities Translate research and evidence into compelling communication strategies that influence attitudes and behaviours around physical activity.
Use behavioural science insights to design and deliver interventions that move people, communities and organisations toward healthier choices.
Produce clear, persuasive content across multiple channels (stories, reports, social media, podcasts) that raises awareness of the benefits of physical activity.
Collaborate with partner organisations to build campaigns, share resources and strengthen a collective evidence base.
Deliver measurable outcomes and report on the impact of communication efforts to internal stakeholders and funders.
Benefits & conditions Salary £48,221–£52,656 plus travel expenses, pension contribution and benefits.
Permanent contract.
