Technician (Animal Management) ā up to 12 months maternity cover, fixed term contract
An exciting opportunity has arisen within North Kent Collegeās Animal Management department for a suitably qualified, experienced, and passionate individual to join our team as Technician in Animal Management.
Reporting directly to the Animal Unit Manager, you will be responsible for the upkeep and care of our Animal Collection, ensuring all areas of the Animal Management Unit are maintained to the highest standards. You will play a key role in presenting a professional and welcoming environment for students, parents, and external visitors.
Your duties will include supporting the Animal Unit Manager and Technical Instructors with the routine care and treatment of animals, general maintenance of the unit, and assisting with related administrative tasks. You will also help ensure that all equipment and resources are properly maintained and available for teaching and learning purposes.
To be successful in this role, you must be able to work flexibly on a rota-based shift pattern. A minimum of a Level 3 qualification in a relevant subject (or equivalent) is required, along with a valid first aid certificate or a willingness to obtain one upon appointment. While previous experience working with young people in an educational setting is desirable, it is not essential.

Your hours: 37 hours per week (Monday to Friday), 52 weeks per annum
Your pay: £24,688 per annum
