Bishop Burton College, East Riding of Yorkshire is seeking an enthusiastic and knowledgeable Equine Lecturer to bring industry experience, energy and creativity into the classroom and practical learning environment. The role may appeal to someone currently working in a competition yard, riding school, rehabilitation centre, stud, livery yard or the wider equine industry who is now looking to share skills and knowledge within education. If you do not currently hold a teaching qualification, the College will support you in obtaining one alongside your role.
Responsibilities
- Deliver engaging practical and theory-based sessions in collaboration with the Equine department.
- Support students throughout their studies and help prepare learners for successful careers within the equine industry.
- Contribute to high-quality teaching, student success and industry excellence within a supportive, experienced team.
- Utilise outstanding industry-standard facilities (including large indoor and outdoor arenas, specialist teaching spaces, and commercial yard environments) to support hands-on learning.
Contract and Schedule
- Fixed term until August 2027.
- Part-time: 24 hours per week, Monday and Tuesday until 5pm, Wednesday and Thursday until 3pm (one hour lunch).
Person Specification and Teaching Pathway
- Role suitable for applicants currently working within the equine industry who wish to move into education.
- All applicants will be evaluated against essential and desirable criteria outlined in the person specification.
- If you do not hold a teaching qualification, the College will support you in obtaining one alongside your role.
