Are you passionate about bird conservation and ready to take the next step in your animal care career? Birdworld is looking for an enthusiastic and dedicated Aviculture Keeper to join our Living Collections team. This is a fantastic opportunity to work hands-on with a wide variety of avian species in one of the UK’s largest bird parks, helping to deliver exceptional welfare, contribute to conservation breeding programmes, and engage the public in our mission.
Responsibilities
- Take responsibility for the daily care and wellbeing of birds within a specific section of our collection.
- Provide feeding, cleaning, monitoring of behaviour, and support enrichment and breeding activities.
- Maintain high welfare standards and promote conservation goals.
- Interact with guests to help bring our birds and their stories to life.
What You’ll Need
- Experience working with birds in a zoo, park, or similar setting.
- A solid understanding of avian husbandry and welfare.
- Great teamwork and communication skills.
- A positive attitude and willingness to work outdoors in all weathers.
- The flexibility to work weekends and public holidays as part of a rota.
- A diploma or degree in Animal Management, Zoology, or Conservation is desirable, but not essential if you have the right practical experience and passion.
